Stamp with Amy

Totally Tess

Hello! Today's project is one that I've been dying to make for my stamp room ever since the Occasions Mini Catalog came out, but I didn't have the stamp set. Then a few weeks ago when I was at my friend Catherine's house, I borrowed her stamp set & quickly stamped all of the images in Black Staz On on Whisper White cardstock. I brought home that white piece of paper & it sat on my desk for days & days. Then this week & finally cut, colored, & decorated it, & I am so happy with it!

The stamp set is Totally Tess, and it is retiring tomorrow!!! If you want to make this cute project for your craft space, you have to order it asap! I framed it & placed it prominently in my stamp room, & it brings a smile to my face every time I look at it. Here it is framed:

I wanted to use Melon Mambo, since it is such a happy color. When trying to figure out what color I wanted to coordinate with it, I was so excited to see how beautifully the soon-to-be-back retired In Color, Pacific Point, goes with Melon Mambo. Love it!

Tess and her accessories were colored with Blender Pens (thank goodness I never got rid of my retired colors!)  Her bag was colored with another returning favorite, Pink Pirouette. I hand cut out her bag, snips, marker, wheel, and stamp, & placed them in her bag & on her hand with my 2-way glue pen. 

The sentiment was punched with the Modern Label Punch, and the Pacific Point mat was die cut using my Movers & Shapers Die.

The funny thing is, we just adopted a dog last week & her name is Tess! She came with that name, & it suits her perfectly. She is a little beagle that was found in a shelter by the Beagle Rescue Society, & she couldn't be sweeter. My kids adore her & have been so good about taking responsibility for her. I'll take some pix this weekend & post them. :-)

Presto Patterns DSP sneak peek in Baja Breeze

Hi there! Today I went on a field trip with my son Aidan's class to the science museum in Newport News, VA. I wish I had taken my camera, it was a neat museum with lots of live animals. The 3 hours on the school bus just about did me in, though!  :-)

Today's project is a card that will be one that my Online Cards & Projects club and my local club gals will get to do in May. It features the Presto Patterns DSP. 

 

This paper pack is so neat! It comes completely white with a shiny design. You brayer or sponge color over it, & the pattern appears! For this card, I used that wonderful soon-to-return-former-in color, Baja Breeze. Ooh, I love that color with Soft Suede, another In Color that will have a permanent place on the Color Chart.

I brayered the DSP with Baja Breeze, then sponged the edges in Soft Suede.

The Whisper White layer was run through the Big Shot using the brand new Square Lattice Embossing Folder. 

The sentiment is from the All Holidays stamp set which was punched with the Large Oval Punch, matted with the Scalloped Oval Punch, and a half pearl from the Pretties Kit was added. Have you heard that Stampin' Up will start carrying self-adhesive pearls and rhinestones in the new Idea Book and Catalog in July? Ooh, I'm so excited for that!

Bouquet Bunch Birthday Card

Hi there! Today's project is one of the cards that I'm considering for my Cards & Projects Club in May. I'm not sure if it is going to make the cut, but I think it is really cute!

This card features the brand new stamp set, Bouquet Bunch, that will be available on May 1st in the new Summer Mini Catalog. This is an adorable watercoloring set, & very inexpensive, too! If you don't have a Summer Mini Catalog & would like to have one, email me & I'll mail one out to you right away!

The flower & pot were stamped on Watercolor Paper and colored with Aqua Painters. The Watercolor Paper makes watercoloring look fantastic!

I wanted to give a shout out to some retiring colors, so I used Apricot Appeal cardstock with the Cameo Coral DSP along with the non-retiring Certainly Celery.

The birthday sentiment is from All Holidays stamp set, which covers so many holidays... I hope it doesn't retire!

Fox & Friends Thank You

Hi there! I hope you are having a good weekend. Ours has been busy for sure, but it has been good. Those storms that have been ravaging the south are headed our way, so I'm hoping that tomorrow will be a quiet family day at home. 

Today's project was a birthday card for my daughter that a fellow demonstrator, Shruti made. Her daughter and mine are good friends, & I just love this card! I'll for sure use the layout in a future project.

Isn't that adorable? I love the Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip color combination, and the sponging on the sentiment. I haven't used my Fox & Friends stamp set in a while, so I need to pull it out before the Occasions Mini Catalog retires next week! Of course, some of the stamp sets will carry over in the big Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog in July, but we have no idea which ones yet. I really hope that Fox & Friends will be in there!!!

Sweet Pea Scrapper's Express April Projects

Hi there! I cannot believe April is almost over! Time is flying by, and that means that the Occasions Mini Catalog is about to come to an end! I'll be so sad to see the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper go... it is just perfect for scrapbooking!

Stampin' Up Builder Wheel Friendship card

Hello! Today's project features the brand new Builder Wheels from Stampin Up! I love these wheels & the idea that you can use 1, 2, or 3 wheels together on one Jumbo Wheel Handle. It is a great new product that will be offered in the new Summer Mini Catalog starting May 1st!

So fun! Stampin' Up will also be offering a Triple-Cell Cartridge, so you can use 3 different ink colors at once with the builder wheels. On my project, I used So Saffron, Melon Mambo, and that blast from the past, Tangerine Tango! A former In Color that will be coming back as a permanent member of our Core Colors! Woo hoo! Thank goodness I still have my retired ink pads and a few scraps of cardstock. This is a gorgeous, yummy orange color.

I'll have a similar card coming up next week, so I'll post the ingredients then. American Idol DVR's shows are calling my name. :-)

Pedaling Past #2 Sneak Peek

Hi there! Quick post today... I'm running out the door for our first day of Little League! My son is so excited, he can hardly stand it. Today's card is another one that my friend, Catherine, made when I stayed with her in Raleigh. It features the Pedaling Past stamp set and the In a Word set. 

Isn't it darling? I just love the way the Vellum Paper flowers curl naturally from being die cut, and how adorable the Epoxy Brad is as the flower center!

Elements of Style

Woo hoo, I love new stamps! I finally got a chance to play with the brand new stamp set Elements of Style that is coming out in the Summer Mini Catalog, and boy, do I love this set! I have so many card ideas for it, & I can't wait to have time to play more!

How yummy is that? For this card, I used the color combination of Old Olive, Rose Red, Regal Rose, and Soft Suede. All 4 of these colors will continue to be current colors in the new Idea Book and Catalog in July after the big Color Renovation. 

The Regal Rose mat was given a gorgeous texture treatment with the new Stampin' Up! Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Big Shot. Ooh, I love those embossing folders, and I'm thrilled that there will be this brand new one in the new Summer Mini!

The swirl stamp was inked with Old Olive and Rose Red Stampin' Write Markers, and the hummingbird was inked in Regal Rose Classic Ink. Placement was a snap with the clear mount stamps.

The edges were sponged with Soft Suede ink for a vintage vibe.

The Rose Red double stitched ribbon was adhered to the back of the card with Snail, and the right side of the ribbon was tied with Linen Thread. An Old Olive button was tied on for the perfect finishing touch.

I hope you like this card! It feels good to be creating again. :-)
