Another CAS layout with Friends Never Fade

Hi there! Well, I guess I forgot to show you another card yesterday that features the same layout as the day before! Ha! Well, here it is:

Since I forgot to show it yesterday, I'll show you the other one again with the same layout:

Same layout, 2 completely different feels!  I really love both cards.

The Friends Never Fade stamp set is one that I've been using a bunch lately, and I'm sure you can see why. It is so pretty & versatile. I stamped it twice in Baja Breeze, cut one of the flowers out, colored it with Certainly Celery & Chocolate Chip ink and Blender Pens, and mounted it with dimensionals on the other image. The cardstock is Pear Pizzazz, so I'm glad that the celery looks good with it, since I don't yet have the Pear marker.

The DSP is Greenhouse Garden, another favorite new product of mine! I matted the pieces in Chocolate Chip cardstock.

I don't like the legs of brads to show on the inside of cards, so I snipped them off with my Craft & Rubber Scissors & mounted them with a Mini Glue Dot.

Envelope Gift Card Holder

Hello! Today I finally have the 3rd project that my Online Cards & Projects Club did in June. Sorry this is so late... it's been a crazy month! This is a gift card holder made from a Medium Envelope that fits a standard sized card.

Actually, the title should be Cheers to my Dad & Step-Mom! I made this card as a thank you for the wonderful week in Florida that we just had. They make this trip possible every year for my family and all of my siblings & their families. What a wonderful gift!

This is also for a Sketch Challenge over on Splitcoast, SC286.

I love it! I've had that Island Oasis DSP for quite a while, & for some reason I haven't really used it. The colors are so summery & fun, now I know I'll use it a ton! 

I thought the Daquiri stamp was a perfect image for my beach trip thank you card, and the flowers from the Stampin' Up! Floral Fusion Sizzlit add to the tropical feel. The Bitty Button and the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch coordinate perfectly, too!

Stay tuned tomorrow for another card using the same layout, but a completely different feel.

More Scrappers Express Layouts

Hi! I'm back from vacation, & I wish I could say that I'm rested! Traveling with kids is exhausting! We had a great time, though.

Today's project is another double page layout from June's Scrapper's Express Club, which featured the Sweet Pea DSP. It was such a huge pack of patterned paper that you could have many many layouts, all completely different!

This is such a quick & simple layout,  but I love it! I will add a title to the left page on the Chocolate Chip cardstock, but this was the general layout for my Scrapper's Express Club.

The Big Shot Die Cut Machine made cutting different sized stars out of cardstock and chipboard a breeze. The cardstock stars were given a texture treatment with the Perfect Details Texturz Plate. I found out through trial & error that it is much easier to emboss first before cutting the stars!

By swapping the cardstock & DSP layer, but keeping the scalloped DSP border the same, it is pleasing to the eye without being too busy.

Friends Never Fade

 
 

Hello! Today was our last day in Florida, & it has been a wonderful time. Now I'm ready to head home and start planning my New Catalog Open House! I cannot believe that the new catalog will be "live" next week! Woo hoo! My wish list is soooo long.

Today's project is another one with the Friends Never Fade stamp set, which will be brand new in the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog. For this card, I used my Stampin' Write markers. I actually forgot to preorder the new In Color markers, so I didn't have the Pear Pizzazz color that I needed for the stem. So I used my Certainly Celery and Wild Wasabi markers on the stem, & it looks perfect! I also used Real Red & Daffodil Delight markers. This new yellow color is so much prettier than our old yellows that are retiring, IMO. Love it!

I also used the brand new Daffodil Delight 1/8" Satin Ribbon, the Teeny Tiny Tags stamp set & Jewelry Tag punch, Modern Label Punch, & Real Red Brads. The DSP is brand new too, & it is called Greenhouse Garden. So many awesome new products!

I will definitely be back to listing specific details about the projects when I get back to "'real life". This week has been heavenly, though, with few responsibilities. :-) I hope you get one, too!

Because I Care

Hello from Florida! We are still having a wonderful time here on the sunny beach!

Today's project is a sneak peek of an upcoming Level 1 Hostess Set in the new 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog. It is called Because I Care, & it is a gorgeous hydrangea! Lookie!

I kept it monochromatic, using Bashful Blue, the new blue, Marina Mist, and Night of Navy. The Marina Mist layer was run throught the Big Shot using a brand new Embossing folder that will be in the new catalog. I watercolored the image by first stamping it in Staz On Jet Black ink, then used my Aquapainters & the above mentioned colors plus Elegant Eggplant to color the blooms. Old Olive was used for the leaf and Chocolate Chip was used for the stem.

Thoughts & Prayers with Sympathy

Hi! I am in lovely Florida having a fabulous time with my family. My family has come in from Tennessee, New York City, Dallas, TX, and us from Richmond, so it is a special time to be able to all be together. Yesterday we spent the day at Islands of Adventure in Orlando, & today we went deep sea fishing. It has been a whirlwind of fun, so I'm a little behind on my posting!

Today's project is a sympathy card made with my favorite sympathy stamp set ever, Thoughts & Prayers. I just love that tree! The 2 colors were added on the stamp with Old Olive and Stampin' Write markers. Clean & Simple. A tiny touch of green glitter was added to a few of the leaves.

Friends Never Fade Thank You Card

I love this new stamp set, called Friends Never Fade, and the new colors and Designer Series Paper! The card base is our new yellow Core Color, Daffodil Delight, and the new green is a new In Color, Pear Pizzazz. Both of these colors are so yummy IRL!

The flower image was inked with markers & stamped onto Whisper White cardstock. Another flower image from the stamp set was inked in Versamark watermark ink & stamped across the top of the card. Can you see it?

Sweet Pea Scrapper's Express June Projects

Happy Sunday and Happy Father's Day, Everyone! I am in Florida enjoying the sunshine with my dad and my huge family. Wish you were here! :-)

Today's project is one that my Scrapper's Express Club gals did this month. Unfortunately, the Sweet Pea DSP is no longer available, so I can't take any more club orders for June, but if you would like to find out more about this club, click here.

 

Isn't that cute? I'm sad to say that Taken with Teal, the layout base, is retiring. I will definitely miss that color! The DSP is all from Sweet Pea, and the pink is the gorgeous returning In Color, now a Core Color, Pink Pirouette.

The Brad on the right page is an Epoxy Brad from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I love those!

 

The journaling block is a Scalloped Square Die Cut, cut in half for journaling on both pages.

Faux Stained Glass Video Tutorial

Hello! I'm finally getting around to posting videos of the projects that my local Stamp Club and my Online Cards & Projects Club ladies are making this month. Better late than never, right? (That's what I'm telling myself anyway.) I posted a photo and details about this card made with the Awash With Flowers stamp set here.

This was my first time trying this technique, and it is so fun! Here is a video on how to make it:
