Snow Much Fun

Woohoo, I'm back to stamping! It's always so much fun to get back and create a fun project after being out of town for a few days.

Today's card is a simple layout featuring the Snow Much Fun stamp set. I just love it paired with the Northern Flurry Embossing folder. 

I took the photo with the flash turned off to better show the embossing. I'm not thrilled with how the colors came out, but I think you can tell what it looks like, right?

I'm Back!

Have you recovered from the Thanksgiving Feast yet? Finished your holiday shopping? I hope you had a good holiday. Mine was different... Mom ended up in the hospital the whole time with pneumonia, on the ventilator. I'm so thankful that I got to spend quality time with my siblings & their families & with my mom at the hospital, but it certainly wasn't the weekend that we had hoped for!

I had planned to get a project made & posted today, but honestly, I'm completely wiped out! Tomorrow I will have a new goodie to share with you. :-) Thanks for understanding.

Comfort & Joy

Have you been out shopping for Black Friday? Not me! I'm scared to leave the house. Ha! Actually we are at my dad's today with the whole family. Fun family times.

Today I have a quick share for you. This was a card that I had planned for my Stamp-a-Stack, but it didn't make the cut. I still really love this card & may have my local club gals make it next month. I love the silver embossing with that dove!

So elegant!

The white mat was embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder & the Big Shot. The stamp set is Comfort & Joy.

If you need me, I'm checking emails regularly, but I'll be back in the office on Monday.

I hope you are having a wonderful day, surrounded by loved ones! I am in Nashville with my whole family. My mom is in the hospital with pneumonia, but I'm so thankful that we are all together and that we still have her with us.

Organization

I've had some questions regarding how I organize my stamping supplies, so I thought I'd share a couple of photos. My stamp room is still not organized from the move down the hall, but at least it is functional!

This is how I store my 8 1/2 x 11" cardstock. I got hanging file boxes at the office supply store, & have all of my paper organized by color families. That way, I can always find what I need quickly.

Here is a close up, so you can see the color organization:

I have these file boxes sitting on plastic drawers that I got from a big box store. You can see that I have the drawers with all of my accessories & punches labeled, so I can always go right to what I need without searching:

The table on the right is also from a Big Box store, & that is where I have my Big Shot, Circle Scissor Plus, and my light box for photographing my projects. The other table on the left is where I create my projects, and it holds my inks, markers, ribbon, & accessories caddy.

Hand-Penned Holidays Thanksgiving Turkey

Are you getting excited for Thanksgiving? I am! My family is going to Tennessee to spend the holiday with my family, and I just can't wait to get there! Normally we don't travel on Thanksgiving, but since I will be having the baby on December 28th, we decided to all get together over Thanksgiving instead. 

Today's project really gets me excited for this weekend! I made a paper-pieced turkey with the Treat Cups and the Scallop Circle Die #2 for the Big Shot.

Isn't he darling?

I die cut 4 scallop circles all at once with my Big Shot, cut them in half, and inked the edges with Chocolate Chip ink. Then I staggered them to create his frill (is that the right word?). HIs head was created with the 1 3/8" Circle punch and the Oval Punch. The eyes were from the Owl Builder Punch. So cute & easy!

The Hand-Penned Holidays stamp set adds the perfect greeting for this card.
