Hello! I hope you've had a great weekend! I sure did, but it really flew by! I meant to film some videos today, but instead I ran errands. I did manage to make some time to stamp though. My nephew, Henry, is turning 2 next month, & my sister Ashley asked me to make some thank you notes for his party. The invitation has a monkey on it, & she has always called him "Monkey", so of course I had to pull out my favorite Fox & Friends stamp set!

Aren't they cute? Ash prefers the top one, since it has all of the colors & the balloon. The gift & balloon are from the Family Accessories stamp set, & the Thank You is from the Thank You Kindly stamp set. These will be super easy to crank out a stack!

Hello! Today I'm flying to Nashville, TN to visit my family. I am so excited to see them!

Today's projects are the bookmarks that my 11 year daughter made last week. She came into the stamp room & said that she wanted to stamp something, so I suggested a bookmark. Sock Monkey

Hi there! Today's project features the adorable Sock Monkey stamp set. Who doesn't love a Sock Monkey??? 

Mr Monkey was inked in Chocolate Chip ink, & colored in with markers. The ribbon is retired, but it was too perfect not to put on this card. The card base is the new yellow, Daffodil Delight. Such a warm, happy color!

More Scrappers Express Layouts

Hi! I'm back from vacation, & I wish I could say that I'm rested! Traveling with kids is exhausting! We had a great time, though.

Today's project is another double page layout from June's Scrapper's Express Club, which featured the Sweet Pea DSP. It was such a huge pack of patterned paper that you could have many many layouts, all completely different!

This is such a quick & simple layout,  but I love it! I will add a title to the left page on the Chocolate Chip cardstock, but this was the general layout for my Scrapper's Express Club.

The Big Shot Die Cut Machine made cutting different sized stars out of cardstock and chipboard a breeze. The cardstock stars were given a texture treatment with the Perfect Details Texturz Plate. I found out through trial & error that it is much easier to emboss first before cutting the stars!

By swapping the cardstock & DSP layer, but keeping the scalloped DSP border the same, it is pleasing to the eye without being too busy.

Beary Best Friends Birthday Card

Hello and Happy Memorial Day! Today's project features the Beary Best Friends and Beary Nice Wishes stamp sets, which are stamp sets of the Build-A-Bear theme. I have to admit that these have been gathering dust in my stamp room. My kids are a little old for Build A Bear, but I just couldn't resist the adorable stamp sets!

Isn't he a cutie-patootie? He was stamped on Watercolor Paper, and colored with my Aquapainter and classic inks in Close To Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry, and Not Quite Navy. When watercoloring, make sure your outline is stamped in a waterproof ink like Staz On, or your colors will bleed together.

The sentiment was stamped in Jet Black Staz On on a 1/2 inch strip of Very Vanilla Cardstock. I made the banner by inserting the end in the 1 1/4" square punch on the corner for a perfect banner cut out. I curled the banner a bit & adhered it to the card with a couple mini glue dots. I didn't want the brad to poke through the card, so I added the glue dot to the back of the brad.

This Dusty Durango ribbon was the last of my supply. Yea! I cannot tell you how much ribbon I have retiring... it makes me sick, but it is a good lesson to not buy so much next time! :-) (I say that, but wait until you see all of the gorgeous new ribbon! Tee hee!)

It's The Thought

Happy Saturday, Everyone! My children are across the street at a birthday party, my husband is planting flowers, and I am enjoying the peace and quiet in my stamp room. Aahhhhh!

Today, I have some cards to share that I made with the new Level 1 Hostess Set, It's the Thought. I adore this set! I love watercoloring sets and animals, so this set suits me to a tee!

These are 3 x 3 gift enclosure cards. Too cute!

I think the turtle card is my favorite. He was colored with Old Olive, Certainly Celery, and So Saffron markers, and his DSP is from The Write Stuff Specialty DSP.(115674)

  Mr Owl was colored with Sahara Sand, Soft Suede, and Chocolate Chip ink and blender pens for a softer look. His DSP is from the Kaleidoscope Paper pack (115680).

The DSP on the cherries card is from Pink Flamingo DSP (113976). 

For the wedding/anniversary/birthday cake card, I used the soon-to-be-back color, Pink Pirouette and the Patterns DSP in Melon Mambo. Can't wait for Pink Pirouette to come back! Woo hoo!

Mom scrapbook pages after the big move!

Helloooooo..... I'm blogging from under a mountain of boxes! Aggghhhh! Actually, our move went really smoothly (so far), and we have made huge progress in the unboxing process. I feel like we'll never unpack all of them... but that is my goal! Thanks again for all of the wonderful emails and comments wishing us a good move. It's been stressful, crazy, exhausting... but I guess moving is always that way, huh?

Well, I had high ambitions to have my stamp room all set up by now and have a brand new project to show you, but unfortunately mommy is always low-man on the totem pole in the family order of importance. (I'm just kidding! But you know what I mean... gotta get the kiddos all set up first!) So, I have a scrapbook layout from last month's Scrapper's Express Club to show you today. Tomorrow, I will craft!

 

Gosh, scrapbook layouts never look as pretty in pictures as they do in real life! I'm telling ya, this layout is gorgeous with the sparkly DSP and the Faux Suede Flower! Here's a close up of each page:

I guess it would show up more, too, if I had a colored background instead of white.

  

I started with Very Vanilla 12 x 12 cardstock, and used the Oh So Gorgeous Sending Love Specialty DSP. Can you tell I'm crazy about that paper? I thought I would say goodbye to it after Valentine's Day, but Hooray! it is awesome for lots of occasions! I love it for my page about being a mom. Can you believe all of that big curly hair I used to have?

Tailgating Wheel Thank You Card

They're loading the moving truck... wheeeee! I can't believe this day has finally come. 

Thinking about the moving truck made me think of this card that I made for my son's birthday thank you cards. With the Stampin' Around Wheels, it is a snap to make a cute, very quick card. Literally, this card took me 1 minute to make!

The notecard comes in a set of 20 with matching envelopes, so all you do is stamp & write it. So easy!

The Tailgating standard wheel was inked in Soft Suede. I lined up the wheel so that the truck would be at the edge of the page & just rolled the wheel across the card.

My son's name was inked in Handsome Hunter. He is very sensitive about anything that doesn't scream "boy", so I was thrilled that this card passed his guidelines.

Friends Rock Thank You Card

 

Hello! Today is my daughter's last guitar lesson before we move to Richmond, so I made this card for her teacher, who we think the world of. It features the Friends Rock stamp set and the coordinating Rockin' wheel, which are perfect for this occasion! I stamped the guitar image on the inside of the card.

 

The patterned paper is from the Thoroughly Modern paper pack. I love the Bermuda Bay, Black & White combo!

The filigree brad adds the perfect touch of pizzazz to the card, & coordinates with the pattern on the DSP.

Lots of dimensionals were used on this project-- good thing I don't have to mail it! :-)
