Heard From the Heart in New Colors

Hello! I am recovering from 3 days of non-stop action with my 2 children & their 2 friends who were visiting from Raleigh. We went to the local theme park here in Richmond, Kings Dominion, which was a blast! But between that, the pool, baseball, TaeKwonDo, and driving back & forth to Raleigh to transport these 2 friends, I am wiped out. I told the kids that today is all about me (ha ha). We'll see how long that lasts!

Today's project features the Heard From The Heart stamp set, which isn't new, but the color combination is. I wanted to make a card that featured a new Core Color Family, so I focused on the Subtles.

I just love the new color families! The 1 1/4" circles are in Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, Pink Pirouette, and Perfect Plum. The sentiment is stamped in Black Staz On on a Bashful Blue mat, and that is on a Pretty in Pink card base. 

A knot of Pretty in Pink striped ribbon and a Bashful Blue button from the Sherbet button collection add that touch of dimension, and a rhinestone freed from its prongs was added to the center of the button with a mini glue dot. Simple & sweet!

Elements of Style-- Mojo 141

Hi there! I have gotten out of the habit of doing challenges, but on Monday when my husband and kids went to the driving range, I got online and found some challenges to get my creative mojo going. And what better place to start than with the Mojo Monday sketch!

I was so thrilled with how this card turned out! It features the Elements of Style stamp set and the fabulous DSP from the Summer Mini Catalog, Island Oasis. 

I used both sides of one sheet of DSP... love those patterns together!

The Very Vanilla cardstock was given a texture treatment with Stampin' Up's Perfect Details Texturz Plate.

The bird was inked in Tempting Turquoise, then the Old Olive was added with a sponge dauber. He was cut out & popped up on Dimensionals.

The Vanilla circle was punched with the 1 3/4" circle punch & also popped up with Dimensionals.

I love how the Old Olive Satin Ribbon and the Tempting Turquoise ribbons look together. The sentiment was stamped on a die cut shape from the Matchbox Die.

It's The Thought

Happy Saturday, Everyone! My children are across the street at a birthday party, my husband is planting flowers, and I am enjoying the peace and quiet in my stamp room. Aahhhhh!

Today, I have some cards to share that I made with the new Level 1 Hostess Set, It's the Thought. I adore this set! I love watercoloring sets and animals, so this set suits me to a tee!

These are 3 x 3 gift enclosure cards. Too cute!

I think the turtle card is my favorite. He was colored with Old Olive, Certainly Celery, and So Saffron markers, and his DSP is from The Write Stuff Specialty DSP.(115674)

  Mr Owl was colored with Sahara Sand, Soft Suede, and Chocolate Chip ink and blender pens for a softer look. His DSP is from the Kaleidoscope Paper pack (115680).

The DSP on the cherries card is from Pink Flamingo DSP (113976). 

For the wedding/anniversary/birthday cake card, I used the soon-to-be-back color, Pink Pirouette and the Patterns DSP in Melon Mambo. Can't wait for Pink Pirouette to come back! Woo hoo!

Presto Patterns DSP sneak peek in Baja Breeze

Hi there! Today I went on a field trip with my son Aidan's class to the science museum in Newport News, VA. I wish I had taken my camera, it was a neat museum with lots of live animals. The 3 hours on the school bus just about did me in, though!  :-)

Today's project is a card that will be one that my Online Cards & Projects club and my local club gals will get to do in May. It features the Presto Patterns DSP. 

 

This paper pack is so neat! It comes completely white with a shiny design. You brayer or sponge color over it, & the pattern appears! For this card, I used that wonderful soon-to-return-former-in color, Baja Breeze. Ooh, I love that color with Soft Suede, another In Color that will have a permanent place on the Color Chart.

I brayered the DSP with Baja Breeze, then sponged the edges in Soft Suede.

The Whisper White layer was run through the Big Shot using the brand new Square Lattice Embossing Folder. 

The sentiment is from the All Holidays stamp set which was punched with the Large Oval Punch, matted with the Scalloped Oval Punch, and a half pearl from the Pretties Kit was added. Have you heard that Stampin' Up will start carrying self-adhesive pearls and rhinestones in the new Idea Book and Catalog in July? Ooh, I'm so excited for that!

Fox & Friends Sweet Giraffe

Hi there! Today's card is another card that I stamped a while back... I need to stop making promises about what will appear on my blog, because I did not get to stamp again today! Or edit my video that I wanted to post! Oh why, Old Man Winter, are you giving the sunny south this snowy, icy weather? Don't you know that I can't get anything accomplished when my children are home for days on end? Well, that plus all of the pre-move tasks that I have now on my To Do list. No more promises, other than I'll still try to post daily. (But I AM STAMPING TOMORROW!) ;-) ** Disclaimer: My children are home again tomorrow because of icy roads! And only have a half-day on Thursday & are off of Friday for Conferences! Ack! And we're expecting another snow storm! Ack Ack!!

Fox & Friends Baby Card

Hello Stampers! Today's project is another one that we did at Pam's workshop last weekend. Isn't he cute? Pam is throwing a baby shower for a friend, so I thought this would be a cute make and take, and one that shows that all you really need to make cards is stamps, ink & paper. I had the Fox & Friends and the Well Scripted stamp sets on the tables, so everyone could choose their own animal and phrase and everyone ended up with totally unique cards! Fun!

Fox & Friends Baby Gift

Hello! Today's project is a gift that I made for my customer, Crystal, who just had a baby boy. Congratulations, Crystal! I'm assuming that she doesn't have time or energy to make her own thank you notes for the gifts she has received, so I thought I'd whip up some for her. (Any excuse to use that adorable monkey from the Fox & Friends stamp set! Ha!)

• The new clear mount stamps let me put Mr Monkey right where I wanted him. He was stamped in Close To Cocoa on Whisper White cardstock, which was double mounted with Close To Cocoa and Bashful Blue Cardstock. Perfect baby boy colors!
• The sentiment is from Family Phrases, and adorable word set that is perfect for babies and children. The oval punches make the words stand out just a touch.
• I forgot to take a picture of the matching envelopes, but they have a monkey stamped in the lower right corner. Too cute!

So cute and simple and easy to make. Love it!

Heard From the Heart Flower

 

Hello! Today's project is one that I demonstrated at a recent workshop where they wanted to see the Big  Shot. The flower was die-cut with the Stampin Up Simple Flower Embosslit Die, which both die-cuts a shape and embosses it. Neat! The leaves were die-cut with Stampin Up Little Leaves Sizzlit. The white background was embossed with the Stampin' Up Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plate, and it was matted on a Pretty In Pink card base. A Fire Rhinestone Brad was added to the center of the flower for a touch of bling, and the flower was mounted with a Stampin' Dimensional. The sentiment is from Heart From the Heart stamp set.
