Sentimental Journey

Today's project is another one that my Up-Upline, Karin, sent me for being in the top 10 in Sales, I think for March. It features the Sentimental Journey stamp set, which is such a great travel/vacation stamp set!

Isn't it awesome?! I love that she used the Journey stamp from Define Your Life and the saying "for all that you do, for all that you are, for all that you mean to me) from the For All You Do stamp set. All of those plus the Travel Journal DSP coordinate so beautifully together. The Tri-Shutter Card is a fun, interactive card to make. I'll do a video of one soon, okay?

Well, I'm off to enjoy my kids before they leave me for a week! The will be having fun at their grandparents' house in TN, and I'll be attacking their disaster rooms. :-) Can't wait to get them organized.

Today's project is one that my up-upline sent me for being in the top 10 in sales in her group for the month of April. It features the single stamp from the Summer Mini Catalog, Birthday Block. 

Isn't that fun? The image was stamped in black, then she took sponge daubers in turquoise, celery, & Melon Mambo ink & added polka dots to the image. Clever! Then she added Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the candle.

The wheeled images across the bottom are made with Builder Wheels, also new in the Summer Mini. 

Another clever feature of this card is that the white cardstock is actually the part that opens... it is a white card with a black mat on the back, rather than a black card.

Sweet!

Hi there! Today's project is one that was inspired by a scrapbook layout that I saw on the web. I loved it so much, I just had to make a card out of it!

Isn't it sweet? :-) Centering the letters was a snap with my clear mount stamp set, Rough Type, from the Summer Mini Catalog.

The Bashful Blue strip gets a decorative touch with the swirl from the Elements of Style stamp set, also from the Summer Mini.

Since I don't have a Wild Wasabi marker yet, I inked the cherry stamp from Tart & Tangy in Wild Wasabi ink, then used a baby wipe to clean off the cherries & re-colored them with my Real Red marker. So easy!

With All My Heart Color Challenge

Hi there! Today's project was inspired by a color challenge over on Splitcoast, where you have to use Real Red, Bermuda Bay, and Kraft. I tend to shy away from combining red with any green or aqua color (except at Christmas), so this was a good challenge for me!

I started with the big red flower from the Blooms Die Cuts. Then I used the XL Fancy Flower punch on a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock, & layered another red flower from the Blooms die cuts. In the middle is a Kraft corduroy button. Cute!

The card was wheeled with the It's Beautiful Jumbo Wheel, and the sentiment is from With All My Heart stamp set.

All of the products except the With All My Heart stamp set on this card are retiring by June 30th (or while supplies last for the accessories!)

July Fourth Challenge

Hello! Today I have another card that was inspired by a challenge. Since I made it on Memorial Day, the challenge over on Splitcoast was to design a patriotic card. At first, I thought I didn't have any appropriate stamp sets for the challenge, then I remembered that I got the July Fourth stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalog. Perfect!

I started by running my Real Red cardstock through the Big Shot with the Movers & Shapers star die. Then I ran a piece of Night of Navy cardstock through with the Stars #2 Die, which cuts out 4 different sized stars. I'll save the other 3 for another use.

On the navy star, I stamped the sentiment "thank you" from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set in white craft ink & sprinkled my white embossing powder over top & heated it with the heat tool.

Using 3 stamps from the July Fourth stamp set, I randomly stamped them in Night of Navy, Real Red, & Bordering Blue on Whisper White cardstock.

After the card was assembled, I spritzed the entire card with Vanilla Smooch Spritz. I can't tell you how much I love that stuff!

Elements of Style-- Mojo 141

Hi there! I have gotten out of the habit of doing challenges, but on Monday when my husband and kids went to the driving range, I got online and found some challenges to get my creative mojo going. And what better place to start than with the Mojo Monday sketch!

I was so thrilled with how this card turned out! It features the Elements of Style stamp set and the fabulous DSP from the Summer Mini Catalog, Island Oasis. 

I used both sides of one sheet of DSP... love those patterns together!

The Very Vanilla cardstock was given a texture treatment with Stampin' Up's Perfect Details Texturz Plate.

The bird was inked in Tempting Turquoise, then the Old Olive was added with a sponge dauber. He was cut out & popped up on Dimensionals.

The Vanilla circle was punched with the 1 3/4" circle punch & also popped up with Dimensionals.

I love how the Old Olive Satin Ribbon and the Tempting Turquoise ribbons look together. The sentiment was stamped on a die cut shape from the Matchbox Die.

In A Word New Catalog Case

Hello! Today's project is a CASE of a card that is on the cover of the brand new 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog. It uses current products and I changed up the stamp set, but I got the idea for the striped Top Note from the cover.

It's The Thought Flowers

Hi there! Well, this is my last card featuring the It's The Thought Hostess stamp set. Phew! 

Again this post will be short & sweet, because I am plain worn out! I had to take our gecko to the vet today for an antibiotic injection; the dog got into a basket of snacks & ate everything (I'm still waiting on the fallout from that); 3 hours at the baseball game; and the cat still needs her thyroid medicine... Calgon take me away!

This layout was inspired by another layout featured in the Stampin' Success magazine (our demonstrator magazine). I used the new Core Colors, Marina Mist and Wild Wasabi along with old favorites So Saffron & Pretty in Pink. Yummy! 

I finally got a chance to use some of the Bitty Buttons on a card! I punched the same shape as the buttons with my Itty Bitty Shapes Punch, adhered them to the buttons with a dot of Crystal Effects, and used my paper piercer to punch holes in the cardstock (through the button holes) for a sliver of cardstock that doubles as thread.

The wide scallops were made using the round tab punch.

It's The Thought Crab

Hello! Wow, where did the day go? I meant to post earlier, & now here it is 11pm. This will be short. :-)

Today's project features that adorable stamp set again, It's The Thought. This time I used Mr Crab (my kids would say it's Mr Crabs, from Spongebob Squarepants). 

I used the new embossing folder from the Summer Mini Catalog called Square Lattice Embossing Folder. Love it! I also used the black satin ribbon, which I've had for ages & never used. The crab image was colored with the Ruby Red Stampin' Write marker then spritzed with the Silver Foil Smooch Spritz. It looks like shimmery sand! Hope you like this card.

Bouquet Bunch Thank You

Hello! Today was a rainy, cool day here in Richmond, which was perfect for staying inside and stamping! Ooh, I love days like that when I don't have to be anywhere. :-)

Although I still have 2 more cards to share made with the It's The Thought stamp set, I've decided to mix it up & share a card that I made to day with the Bouquet Bunch stamp set. This set is so cute! I cased the idea from our demonstrator magazine, Stampin' Success, though I changed the orientation of the green mat, the ribbon, and I added the Tiny Tag.

I also changed the placement of the colors of cardstock, though I did stay true to the colors used, which are Pretty In Pink, Old Olive, Marina Mist (coming out July 1) and Daffodil Delight (also coming July 1). I love this color combination!

We demonstrators got a sheet of each of the 6 new Core Colors last month free with our demonstrator magazine, and I have to say that I absolutely LOVE all of them!
