I have had a pack of the Presto Patterns Designer Series Paper in my paper stash for a while now, but I tend to forget about it. When I wanted to scrapbook last night & I needed certain colors of patterned paper that I didn't have, I remembered this wonderfully versatile paper! It is white with embossed patterns, so you can make it any color you want with a brayer or sponge and ink.
I had a hard time getting a good photo, so you'll have to trust me that the colors are gorgeous!
My color scheme came from Color Combos Galore and it is Rich Razzleberry, Baja Breeze, Certainly Celery, and Basic Black. Hmmm... I've been in Christmas mode for a month now, so that color combo threw me off! The first thing I thought of with those colors was Easter, so I dug into my 2004 photo file box and found these darling photos of my children at an Easter Egg hunt. Perfect!
I chose the Presto Patterns paper with the french swirly sayings in the corner as my background page, and I sponged Certainly Celery ink all over it. I wanted variations of color, so I didn't try to get it perfectly even. That really doesn't show up in the photo, but I love the lighter and darker areas. I sponged Celery all around the edge of the paper, too, to make it even darker (after I rounded the corners).
A second piece of Presto Patterns paper was used with the Baja Breeze ink. I wanted that one darker & more solid, so I used the brayer. Afterward, I sponged Rich Razzleberry ink around it lightly. I rounded the upper left corner.
The title was a 3rd piece of Presto Patterns paper. I brayered it in Basic Black ink & die cut it with the Big Shot & GoGo Boots Letters Dies.
A Top Note Die serves as my journaling block. I sponged Razzleberry ink around the edges. I also sponged the Razzleberry ink on the white Paper Flower. It looks so velvety! I punched a black 1" circle & added a Baja Breeze Corduroy button (retired).
All in all, I'm very pleased with this layout. I am more of a linear scrapbooker with photo blocks & the photos all lined up, so it felt good to tilt one! LOL! This was a fun challenge.
